After leaving One Direction, Zayn Malik has been rumored to be working on a new album, which is expected to be released anytime soon.

In a report  by Daily Mail, it was said that Simon Cowell’s record label, Syco, would be in charge to produce Malik’s forthcoming record.

Right after leaving the group, Malik was seen releasing a new track, entitled “I Don’t Mind.” This track, however, was believed to be an old One Direction song and was already recorded before he even left the group.

In another Daily Mail report , a source talked about the track revealing the story behind the song and saying how it is not for a Zayn Malik new album.

“It’s important fans know this isn’t a solo Zayn song or even representative of material he might record in the future,” the insider said.

“If you listen to the track it is clearly a song written with One Direction in mind for their last album.

It’s not new, nor is it a Zayn Malik solo track.” “They aren’t furiously working on his solo material or anything, there aren’t plans for anything and this wasn’t recorded in the last few days,” the source continued.

“They are very good friends and Zayn is taking time out including visiting Naughty Boy at his studio and hanging out.” Meanwhile, many fans couldn’t believe that the 21-year-old departed the group and moved on with a solo career.

In a report  by Billboard, 1D released an official statement the day after Malik announced his parting with the boy band.

“We’re really sad to see Zayn go, but we totally respect his decision and send him all our love for the future,” the statement said.

“The past five years have been beyond amazing, we’ve gone through so much together, so we will always be friends.

The four of us will now continue.

We’re looking forward to recording the new album and seeing all the fans on the next stage of the world tour.”
