Xiaomi Redmi Note’s price in India is expected to be below RS 9,999 according to a report by NDTV.
The company has also launched a brief teaser of the Android phablet on Facebook.
Xiaomi’s India office has officially unveiled the handset on Monday.
Availability date for the unit is expected on December 2, through a flash sale from Flipkart.
Earlier mentions by Xiaomi pegged the price at RS 9,999, but based on the company’s last launch in India for the Redmi 1S, the company had changed the pricing the last moment – from RS 6,999 to RS 5,999.
This prompted many to think that the same could happen for the Redmi Note.
NDTV noted that there have been reports suggesting that the Xiaomi Redmi Note will be for sale on December 2 through its official partner Flipkart.
The sales pattern is expected to be the same as previous devices, where it will be sold on a Tuesday at 2 PM.
Consumers will also be asked to register beforehand.
Xiaomi’s flash sales has garnered enormus publicity, as it sells out tens of thousands of handsets in mere seconds.
The second round of sales held for the Xiaomi Redmi 1S sold out 40,000 Redmi 1S handsets in four seconds.
India.com reported that over 200,000 people registered for the sale.
It won’t be a surprise if the same will happen for the upcoming flash sale of the Xiaomi Redmi Note, which is deemed a highly anticipated handset for the Indian market.
Unveiled on March 2014, the Xiaomi Redmi Note runs on the MIUI 5, the company’s customized Android platform based on 4.4.2 KitKat.
It has a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.
It has two versions for its under the hood chipset: One is an octa-core 1.4GHz CPU, the other is an octa-core 1.7GHz CPU, both are powered with 2 GB of RAM.
Xiaomi Redmi Note’s processor is a MediaTek MTK6592.
