Xiaomi Mi5 Release Date Could Arrive Early Next Year? New Smartphone Will Not Have Any Side Bezels

Xiaomi continues to amaze the smartphone world with its steady rise against tough competitors such as Samsung, LG, Sony and HTC, which have been around for a long time.

And it looks like the Chinese brand is already looking to follow up on its success in the flagship category with the Xiaomi Mi5 release date.

In case you still haven’t heard or read anything yet about Xiaomi, it is by far the top selling smartphone brand in China.

Yes, it was able to beat Samsung which held the title for two straight years.  But with the rumors of the upcoming development of the Mi5, the Chinese manufacturer could be aiming for the higher end market.  According to a report by Phone Arena , leaks of the Xiaomi Mi5’s design surfaced all over the Web, and we are sure that you will like it.

In the report, the design of the new Android-powered flagship will be further improved from the Mi4, which allegedly takes away the side bezels from the phone.  In a leaked image from Chinese website Weibo, the bezels are almost gone from the sides, though the top and bottom still pack plenty of room to spare.  As some comments pointed out, the device looks like an HTC One M8, with the single front speaker and the Xiaomi logo the only notable differences between the two.

In the report, the new device would also probably boast a Quad HD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution screen, which is probably ranging from 5-5.5 inches, and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, plus 3GB of RAM.  While all of these specs are only rumors at this point, it is still exciting to see the relatively new company compete with the bigger names in the business.  And with a pricing strategy that is mind-boggling due to its cheap pricetags, Xiaomi may be poised once again to increase in sales and overall market share in the mobile world.
