Xiaomi Mi3S release date: Specs of the Android handset Xiaomi Mi3S include 4G LTE capabilities, a “more metal” design, and a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor that clocks in at 2.5GHz.
It’s also said to have 3GB of RAM, 8MP front-facing camera, 13MP rear camera, and a 5-inch 1080P display.
The upcoming Xiaomi Mi3S has been in discussion since April of this year and in a spec sheet released by PhoneArena on the same month, it noted that its market status is “not officially announced” and release date “uknown.” Many expect that the unit would be released on the 2Q of this year, but the time passed without a Mi3S announcement.
Instead, we saw the unveiling of the Xiaomi Mi4.
Though there have been earlier confusion on the Mi3S and Mi4, with some suggesting that the Mi3S and the Mi4 are the same, speculators say that the Mi3S is actually a Mi3 variant and not a Mi3 successr.
This leads many to believe that the unit may still be unveiled anytime soon.
There was an earlier report saying that a unit being tested as Xiaomi Leo mirrors the very features of the rumored Mi3S.
Android headlines reports that the Leo was seen in AnTuTu benchmarks a few months ago.
The Xiaomi Leo has 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.
It did not show if it has LTE connectivity.
The Leo scored 31,432 in benchmark testing and it’s a bit less than what the OnePlusOne scored.
The specs of the Mi3S and Leo are identical.
Android Headlines notes that the Xiaomi Mi3 was announced September 5, 2013 and released a month later.
The current flagship the Mi3 has two different chipsets, the variant is available depending on where you’re purchasing the unit.
The Tegra 4 variant for China Mobile has TS-CDMA connectivity and a Snapdragon 800 version that runs on China’s WCDMA and GSM networks.
The other model, the Snapdragon 800 variant, was delayed when it was first unveiled.
