X-Men: Apocalypse Movie News: Olivia Munn took to Instagram to teasing her Psylocke costume.
Munn will be joining the X-men team of mutants for upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse as the telepath heroine Psylocke.
“Excited to welcome @oliviamunn as Betsy Braddock! #Psylocke #XmenApocalypse #XMEN,” Director Bryan Singer posted on Instagra.
Psylocke had a minor role in the 2006 movie installment, “X-Men: The Last Stand.” The telepathic mutant was played by Mei Melançon and was part of Magneto’s camp.
Olivia Munn, from HBO’s news series “The Newsroom” and the film “Mortdecai,” was cast as Betsy Braddock, who is also known as the mutant telepath Psylocke) in “X-Men: Apocalypse,” which co-stars Jennifer Lawrence, Channing Tatum and Rose Byrne.
Ian McKellen, who played Magneto, and Patrick Stewart, who played Dr.
Xavier, won’t be in the new X-Men franchise installment.
The next X-Men film is reportedly going to be the last film in the ‘First Class’ trilogy.
Psylocke is the sister of British mutant superhero Captain Britain.
Betsy Braddock is a powerful telepath whose mind inhabits the body of Japanese ninja Kwannon.
Psylocke can focus her telepathic powers to create “psychic daggers.” TheWrap also spilled Munn, a self-professed “avid investor in technology,” will be a featured speaker at TheWrap’s first Power Women Breakfast in San Francisco on May 8.
The theme of the breakfast is “It’s Personal: The Future of Entertainment in a Tech-Driven World.” It will be hosted by The Wrap’s CEO and Editor-in-Chief Sharon Waxman and the founder of Box.org, Karen Appleton.
