The latest update on the “World of Warcraft” movie gives a first-look at Robert Kazinsky’s Orgrim the Orc.
Duncan Jones posted the image of Orgrim Doomhammer on his Twitter .
“Can’t tell you what a relief it is to FINALLY have at least something released from Warcraft for you all to see!,” wrote the British film maker, who also helmed 2009’s “Moon” and 2011’s “Source Code.” The Guardian reports that Doomhamer’s image has made its way to the pages of Wired Magazine .
The special issue will feature the works of effects studio Industrial Light and Magic, which is the company who created the Hulk for this year’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” “We were looking for someone who would be able to perform the gruffness, the humour, and the toughness of this character,” Jones explained in the article .
“We’ve gone beyond the point where these are just creatures in movies.
We now have the technology and the ability to make new characters entirely.” The live-action adaptation of the popular video game franchise was supposed to release this year, and has been postponed twice before that.
I t is now set to arrive in cinemas in June 2016.
According to iDigitalTimes , Jones promises that the film is worth the wait, claming that it will feel “fresh” even to series’ most loyal followers.
“It was important that some of our characters would be seeing the world fresh as well, and that the audience could see the situation through their eyes,” he explained. “World of Warcraft” includes Toby Kebell, Rob Kazinsky, Ben Foster, Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Dominic Cooper, and Daniel Wu.
