Former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant and singer Katherine Jenkins announced that she is pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Andrew Levitas.
Katherine Jenkins has previously said that when she starts a family, she will cut back on her career.
Will Katherine Jenkins stop singing once her baby girl is born?
Katherine Jenkins and her husband both announced the exciting news on Instagram at the same time, with a photo of a pair of pink baby shoes on top of a photo of the couple on their wedding day.
“Couldn’t be more excited to meet our little girl! #MummyToBe #DaddyToBe #ArtProject #Collaboration #Family @andrewlevitas,” Jenkins captioned the Instagram photo.
As of Monday afternoon, the photo already has over 2,500 likes.
Katherine and Andrew married in September 2014 in a private event at the Hampton Court Palace, the Inquisitr reports .
Jenkins, 34, wore a traditional wedding gown and embraced her Welsh heritage on her big day.
Levitas is an American filmmaker, artist, and professor at New York University.
According to Hello! magazine , the singer told the publication in November that she couldn’t wait to have kids, and that when she does start a family she’ll want to focus on being a mother.
“I don’t want to be dragging my children around on aeroplanes,” she said.
“I know it works for some people, but it’s just a personal thing for me.
I want to be at home, I want to be there.
I’d love my kids to have a really happy, secure childhood because it’s so important.” Following her singing career and successful “DWTS” run, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Jenkins decided to concentrate on her growing family.
