As “Doctor Who” season 9 continues filming, two leading females of the franchise have been buzzing in headlines.
Does it indicate a potential love triangle for Peter Capaldi’s Doctor? At the recent Mega-Con, actress Alex Kingston was asked about the potential for River Song to return on “Doctor Who.” And while the actress didn’t confirm a return for season 9, she was confident the arc of River Song was not over.
“All I can say is…spoilers,” said Kingston according to Den of Geek .
“But what I will say is the sonic screwdriver that I had in ‘Silence in the Library,’ which had been given to me by the Doctor, is not the sonic screwdriver that has been seen…yet.” Reportedly, executive producer Steven Moffat also discussed the possibility of River Song to return.
“It’s certainly not ruled out,” said Moffat.
“I have a sort of worry about keeping anybody around in the Doctor’s life for too long.
Because he’s the man who leaves.
I mentioned in passing to Russell [T.
Davies, his predecessor] that we were probably done with River.
He said, ‘You can’t be done with River! No, no, no.
Capaldi and Kingston, it’s a sex storm!'” Of course, should River Song return during “Doctor Who” season 9, she won’t be the only lady oozing chemistry with Peter Capaldi.
As previously reported, actress Michelle Gomez will reprise her role as Missy after wreaking havoc during the “Doctor Who” season 8 finale.
“Things have been a little beige since I left Missy behind, so I’m delighted to be putting my lippie back on,” said Gomez.
“I’m positively dying to see The Doctor again!” River Song, Missy and the Doctor.
Is this a love triangle waiting to happen?
