The new Deftones album is done and is just waiting for a release date, singer Chino Moreno said.
In a report by Loud Wire , the rocker revealed that their record is 100% complete and that they are just waiting for the finishing touches for their new album.
In line with this, the singer explained how the band plans to release the record either this month or next month.
“I think October or November, probably November,” Moreno said. “As of today, we are rushing to get our thank you’s and credits turned in. Once the music is turned in, which should be in the next couple of weeks, there is still some mixing and mastering to be done. But the recordings are all done. The songs are all there. They are awesome and we’re excited about it.”
As for what fans should expect from the new Deftones album, Frank Delgado revealed in an interview reported by Blabbermouth how the process of the entire record is different from their previous releases.
He revealed how they carefully planned and wrote songs without the constriction of time, which he believes provided a better quality in the song.
“This one was different,” Delgado said of their new Deftones album. “This one was a lot of starting and stopping, which I think is something we would’ve been scared of before.”
“For the last couple of records, we went in and we started writing and we didn’t stop until we finished the record. This one we took our time and it was a good pace. Everyone needed that break to breathe, to go home to family. Now we’re ready to be able to work like this. It allowed us to think about things longer as opposed to get something done by a deadline.”
