It’s all aboard the feels train as Jun Maeda has unveiled a full trailer for his latest project, “Charlotte.” The anime series, which reunites Maeda with “Angel Beats” character designer Na-Ga, is set to premiere in July.

So far fans in an ANN forum have expressed excitement for the new anime series.
“This looks a lot better than I expected.
The art and visuals look pretty stunning,” commented Cyphon “I’m very excited to see what Maeda brings to the table this time,” added Vennex.

Anime News Network reports that the “Charlotte” anime series will be directed by Yoshiyuki Asai for the P.A.
Works animation studio.
Kanami Sekiguchi will be adapting Na-Ga’s original character designs.
Meanwhile creator Maeda will handle music as well as the scripts.
Currently no announcements have been made about the Japanese voice cast, but the following character descriptions were released earlier this year:Yu Otosaka: First-year student and student council member with the power to take over another body of his choosing (for only five seconds).
According to anime’s website, he is “the most perverted protagonist in Key history.
If he could be described in one word, it’d be ‘stupid.’ Nao Tamori: First-year student and student council president with the power to make herself disappear (for only one viewer of her choosing).
ANN also provides the following description for the series of “Charlotte”: “The story of ‘Charlotte’ centers around the special abilities that occur among a small percentage of boys and girls in puberty.
Yo Otosaka uses his power without others knowing, and lives a fairly normal, average school life.
Before him suddenly appears a girl, Nao Tomori.
Due to his meeting with her, the fate of special power-users will be exposed.
This is the story of those with special powers who experience youth, written by Jun Maeda.”
