The 2016 SBS Gayo Daejun was truly a night filled with spectacular performances and epic collaborations between several artists from different entertainment agencies. But among the awaited collaborations, probably one of the most anticipated is the collaboration between BIGBANG’s G-Dragon and CL of the recently disbanded 2NE1.
And truly, the two YG superstars did not disappoint when they lit up the ‘Hip Hop Stage’ of SBS Gayo Daejun. Both legends in their own right, G-Dragon and CL were both joined by two other big name rappers: BewhY and Okasian, in a hip hop collaboration produced none other by YG’s resident producer and hitmaker, Teddy Park, Koreaboo reports. G-Dragon had just recently made a comeback along with the rest of his iconic k-pop group BIGBANG and as expected, they have slayed the game once again! CL on the other hand, had just come back from her successful North American tour which covered major cities in the U.S. and Canada and this special performance is in fact her first appearance following her tour and the recent disbandment of her group, 2NE1. Allkpop had earlier confirmed in a report that rapper BewhY, who rose to prominence and hip hop stardom after winning “Show Me the Money 5”, and the popular underground rapper Okasian would be joining CL and G-Dragon for a hip hop collaboration produced by Teddy. There was much hype surrounding the collaboration and it definitely was worth the wait. Their collaborative performance began with Okasian rapping to his song “Underwater Bank” which was immediately followed by BewhY with his song “Shalom.” CL then took the stage and performed her all-English track “Lifted” and then finally, G-Dragon appears rapping to his track “One of a Kind.” Afterwards, all of them came together and performed “1 Million Dollar Won.” What can you say about the ‘Hip Hop Stage’ portion of the SBS Gayo Daejun 2016?
