The 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards may have just concluded but for most of the stars present there, the fun had just began. Truly, MAMA 2016 was such a spectacular star-studded event filled with numerous explosive performances and unexpected winners. And speaking of winners, TWICE, BTS and EXO turned out to be the biggest winners of the night.
As expected, there was no YG Entertainment artist present during the event. The entertainment company had earlier announced that they have decided that none of their artists would be attending MAMA 2016 due to their busy schedules. But despite YG’s absence, MAMA 2016 did not feel any less spectacular. For those who don’t know what the Mnet Asian Music Awards is, it is basically one of the biggest events in K-Pop along with the Melon Music Awards, Golden Disk Awards and Seoul Music Awards. MAMA has been running since 1999 and it has been held outside Korea for seven consecutive years now. This is the also fifth time that MAMA had been held in Hong Kong and the fourth time being held in the same venue which is the Asia-World Expo in Hong Kong.   According to Allkpop , MAMA aims to bring international stars together along with the different musical artists of various cultures and languages in order to bring Asian music to the world. This MAMA 2016 has seen a few expected and unexpected wins and the fans couldn’t be more delighted.
