The fans of Tom Cruise who loved his performance in ”Top Gun’ ‘ are waiting with bated breath for the release of ”Top Gun 2.” The release date or plot or the cast of the movie is not yet finalised, however, the fans are waiting with anticipation.
IMDb mentioned that the plot for the sequel is unknown; however, Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer will be back in this movie too. Jerry Bruckheimer, who was the producer of the original movie is in talks with Cruise for the making of the sequel. Deadline reported in Jan. 2016 that Bruckheimer flew down to New Orleans to meet Cruise and finalise the talks about making the sequel.
”Just got back from a weekend in New Orleans to see my old friend @TomCruise and discuss a little Top Gun 2” tweeted Bruckheimer from his handle @Bruckheimerjb.
Bruckheimer always wanted to make the sequel; however, for more than three decades the project was stalled. “It’s closer now to becoming real than it’s been in 30 years” a source close to the developments of this project told Deadline. The original action drama film was released in 1986 and made $356.8 million in the box office. So what kind of budget will ”Top Gun 2” have and what kind of business it will do worldwide now since technology and love for Hollywood movies have grown in many other countries too?
Tom Cruise as LT Pete “Maverick” Mitchell had stolen the hearts of many and as per a report on Hallels , he has expressed his desire to reprise the role again.
Access Hollywood talked about Tom’s reaction when one of his blockbuster films “Top Gun” played on the in-flight monitors in which Cruise was flying. “Jerry [Bruckheimer] and I, we’re working on it. If we can figure it out, it’ll be a lot of fun. I’d like to get back in those jets if we could figure the story out,” Tom added while talking about the plot of the upcoming sequel of ”Top Gun.”
In an interview to Digital spy , Bruckheimer spilled the beans. “It’s been in the works for 35 years! We really want to make it, Tom is engaged and so is Paramount, so we hope we can bring it to an audience shortly” clarified Bruckheimer.
“Don [Simpson] and I tried to develop something, we didn’t succeed. [Tom] Cruise took over, and he tried to develop something, and he didn’t succeed. Now we’re back at it” Bruckheimer told Huffington post . They have the video of the interview uploaded too.
”Tony Scott, the director of the original Top Gun film, before his death, left Bruckheimer and Cruise with a storyline they can work on. It has to do with drones” confirmed Hallels. ”The concept is, basically, are the pilots obsolete because of drones. Cruise is going to show them that they’re not obsolete. They’re here to stay” confirmed Bruckheimer.
