After the announcement of the former exclusive Microsoft game, “Titanfall 2” is ready to take the PlayStation platform after it was revealed by Respawn the release date details of the game.
In a confirmation by Polygon , EA’s chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen revealed that the game would most probably have a release date between April 1, 2016 and March 31, 2017, which marks their 2017 fiscal year.
This also confirms the rumors of “Titanfall 2” release date to fall around the holiday of next year.
“You should assume that’s not in fiscal ’16; it’s more likely in fiscal ’17,” Jorgensen confirmed.
In a report by IGN , Respawn CEO Vince Zampella previously announced the sequel for the shooting game is expected soon and that it would be “multiplatform.” With this announcement, fans were quick to react how the former exclusive game would be available for the PS4 as well.
“I guess EA announced a sequel, so I could play coy and pretend I don’t know anything about it, or…
yeah,” Zampella said.
“So we’re working on a sequel.
No official name yet, but we’re working on that.
That’s the main focus but we’re starting up a second team and doing some smaller stuff too.
Small, exploratory, taking it slow! It’ll be multiplatform.” In line with this, Zampella’s announcement may also have hinted a possible multiplayer game mode in the upcoming game that would give the game a different twist as compared to its previous titles.
“I wouldn’t have done it differently,” he said.
“We set out to do it and it was one of our goals.
I mean it obviously prohibits a certain group of people playing the game, and as content creators you want to get into as many people’s hands as possible.
We put some single-player elements in there though, and tried to mix it up.”
