Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have a new The Rolling Stones album in mind but claimed that it may not happen anytime soon.
According to a report by Entertainment Weekly , while the British band is still on tour, Richards revealed that he plans to put everyone together in the studio once their series of road shows finish.
The band is still set to play a few shows in South America in the first few months of 2016 and the guitarist plans to put everyone together in the studio right after that.
“After we do South America in February and March , I’d love to get in the studio in April,” Richards explained. “But I know what those guys are like. When they finish a tour, they don’t want to do nothing!”
“I’m trying to get the Stones into the studio,” he said about the new album from The Rolling Stones. “But I don’t quite honestly see it happening this year.”
Furthermore, singer Mick Jagger also talked about the plans of The Rolling Stones for their next album.
In a report by Ultimate Classic Rock , the singer revealed that he has a few songs lined up for their upcoming release.
In addition to new songs, the singer also revealed that they have unreleased tracks planned for the new album, which may mean that the band is getting closer to completion.
“I’ve got a lot of new songs, and songs I’ve written over the last couple of years,” Jagger said, describing the new Rolling Stones album. “I’ve done really good demos for all of them, which I would love to record. I’d love to record a Stones album.”
A new record and follow up to their 2005 release “A Bigger Band” isn’t expected to come this year but has been rumored to come out potentially in 2017.
