With Archie Panjabi’s departure as Kalinda still fresh on “The Good Wife” fans’ memories, has producers already found a replacement? Recent spoilers seem to indicate yes.
According to TV Guide , actress Cush Jumbo has been confirmed for a recurring role on “The Good Wife” season 7.
And while Robert and Michelle King are remaining tight-lipped about spoilers, the character could become a new investigator for Alicia’s firm.
“I wouldn’t say she’s replacing Archie because she’s irreplaceable, but we wanted someone who could fill that same interesting dynamic on the show without doing the same thing,” said Robert.
“We’re still figure out exactly [her role], but we’re not suggesting that Cush will be an investigator or take on that role,” added Michelle.
After all, Archie Panjabi is an Emmy award-winning actress, and that is apparently something that could’ve ignited the feud between her and Julianna Margulies.
“There had been tension between them ever since Archie won an Emmy before Julianna did,” said a source to Celeb Dirty Laundry .
“Alicia may miss Kalinda, but Julianna sure wasn’t sad to see her go.” As fans know, Archie Panjabi departed “The Good Wife” during the season 6 finale, where her character Kalinda shared a farewell scene with Alicia, portrayed by Julianna Margulies.
This would be the first and only scene we’ve seen the two actresses share in over 50 episodes, and even then the actresses shot the scene separately and was spliced together in editing.
In addition, spoilers confirm that actor Matthew Goode will not return as a series regular, portraying Finn Polmar.
Although “there’s a chance Goode could make a guest appearance or two,” romantic storyline between Alicia and Finn is unlikely to occur.
