As “The Good Wife” nears the end of season 6, the question of the potentially final season 7 has been raised with some interesting spoilers portending to the beginning of the end.
During a recent interview, “The Good Wife” executive producers discussed season 7 and the idea that the series could end by then.
“It’s a big question mark, because it’s a question that’s beyond us,” said executive producer Robert King according to TVLine.
…We’re counting down.
That doesn’t mean an end is an end.” But it could be the end of Matthew Goode’s character, lest there is some very careful scheduling between “The Good Wife” and “Downton Abbey.” After starring in the “Downton Abbey” Christmas episode, spoilers confirm that “Downton Abbey” producers are interested in bringing Matthew Goode back, especially since he will reportedly be playing a love interest for Lady Mary.
For now, however, Matthew Goode is still slated to appear on “The Good Wife” as a series regular as well.
“There’s always a dance with scheduling,” said Michelle King.
“So [we can always] dance around ‘Downton Abbey.'” As a potential love interest for Alicia, perhaps these spoilers could also move CBS to make “The Good Wife” season 7 its last.
During the most recent PaleyFest for “The Good Wife,” executive producer Robert King shared some spoilers on Kalinda and Alicia, asking fans to “stay tuned.” “Some of our favorite moments in the first two years were their drinking scenes together and the friendship that was there,” he said according to TVLine.
“[But] we always bumped up against the reality of what would really happen if one of your friends slept with your spouse.” As noted by BuzzFeed , Alicia and Kalinda have not shared a scene together since season 4, with their only form of communication being phone calls.
