‘The Following’ Cast Kevin Bacon Takes On True To Life Movie Set In Bolivia; ‘Jungle’ Gets Australian Financing

“The Following” cast Kevin Bacon will travel to Bolivia to take on a true-to-life story of survival, as the movie “Jungle” got an Australian financing.

According to The Hollywood Reporter , “The Following” cast Kevin Bacon will team up again with Greg McLean, who directed Wolf Creek, for the film that is based on the story of Yossi Ghinsberg who was trapped inside the Amazon jungle for three weeks.

“Jungle was one of 11 projects to receive $9.2 million (AUS $10.7 million) worth of financing from agency Screen Australia, which triggers $50 million worth of production Down Under,” it said.

The adventurer grew up in Tel Aviv, Israel and served three years in the navy.

“Ten years after almost losing his life in the Amazon, he returned to the Amazon river valley that was the site of his remarkable adventure and made it his home.

Yossi was instrumental in the creation and construction of Chalalan, a model eco-tourism village that inspires the Amazon basin and the world to this day,” the website  said.

“During this time Yossi organized two national reunions of all tribes to inform them on issues of intellectual property and their rights and roles in the fight over resources in the Amazon.

His efforts and work contributed to the creation of the Madidi National Park, the largest biosphere conservation belt in the Amazon,” the website added.

“Jungle” is being produced by Arclight Films after it was reported earlier that See-Saw Films and the Spierig brothers will finance the project.

The film, based on Yossi Ghinsberg’s novel of the same title, is being written by Justin Monjo (“INXS: Never Tear Us Apart”) along with Gary Hamilton and Dana Lustig.

Mike Gabrawy and Mark Lazarus, meanwhile, will executive produce the film.

According to THR, ” The Following” cast Kevin Bacon and Greg McLean as they are also worked on “6 Miranda Drive” in April this year.

The actor will be next seen in “Black Mass” alongside Johnny Depp and “Sherlock” cast Benedict Cumberbatch.
