With all the delays it has faced, “Tekken X Street Fighter” game release date is still speculated to be a go, as Bandai Namco never said anything against the game.
In a report by VG 247 , Katsuhiro Harada, the man behind the Tekken series, revealed that even though the game is not progressing, they are still working on the crossover game, which was already announced a few years ago.
“It’s very difficult to talk about,” Harada said.
“Obviously, I had originally planned to release it much earlier than we’re currently looking at.” Announced in 2010, Harada revealed his planning to have the game be announced by surprise to not only give the game a buzz it needs but also be exciting for fans, as they await for the “Tekken X Street Fighter” release date.
“People have been talking about the game for such a long time that they aren’t going to be surprised if you just release it normally,” he said.
“I don’t know if that’s what we have planned, but we do plan to have some kind of surprise.” In a previous interview, Harada revealed his near retirement after working with the fighting series for a long time.
He further added that he promised to release the “Tekken X Street Fighter” game and more games before he leaves the industry.
“Now that we’re at the 20th anniversary of Tekken and I’ve been at the company roughly that number of years – and also, I don’t think I’ve said this publicly before, but I recently had a child – that’s kind of changed my perspective on things,” the Japanese game director said.
“I realize that there’s not as much time left as you think when you’re young, so I’m starting to think that I only have maybe another 20 years working here.
And in that time, how many more games do I have left in me to make?”
