Taylor Swift’s dating life might soon bloom again because of Calvin Harris but the latter allegedly feels uncomfortable that the 25-year-old songstress could write a song about him.
The Scottish music producer reportedly doesn’t fancy the idea that his rumored romance with Taylor Swift might soon be immortalized in one of her future tracks.
After all, the “Today Was a Fairytale” songstress is infamous for penning songs about her love life.
“It was the white elephant in the room, but it’s been on his mind, so he confronted her about it last week, telling her he doesn’t want her to do that to him,” said one insider to Ok! magazine.
“[Calvin] doesn’t want to join the ranks of Swift refugee boyfriends who’ve been humiliated by one of her revenge songs.” Some of the songs which Taylor Swift reportedly penned for her exes include “Out of the Woods” and “Style” for Harry Styles, “Dear John” for John Mayer, “Back to December” for Taylor Lautner, and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” for Jake Gyllenhaal.
While some might believe that Calvin Harris is only concerned with his reputation, the 31-year-old DJ is reportedly worried that Taylor Swift is channeling her talent in an inappropriate way.
“He thinks she’s an incredible musician who should use her intellect and channel positive energy into her songwriting, versus mundane lyrics about boys,” said the same insider to the magazine.
Even if the “I Knew You Were Trouble” hit maker earned a reputation for writing about her exes, she previously defended herself.
“I’ve never thought about songwriting as a weapon,” she told Vanity Fair .
“I’ve only thought about it as a way to help me get through love and loss and sadness and loneliness and growing up.” To be fair, Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” was allegedly written for publications with a fascination for painting imaginary characteristics of her.
