Prince Mak reportedly confirms the existence of such a thing and further said that these contracts could be anywhere between seven to 14 years. Big Bang member G-Dragon’s (Kwon Ji-Yong) growing popularity in China knows no bounds, as the star has recently been ranked as one of the top 10 most influential celebrities in China. According to poll results released by Chinese media outlet Sina on Tuesday, Mar. 22, the Big Bang leader took the spot of No. 3 spot of the most popular celebrity in China, beating out former EXO member turned soloist, Luhan, and a host of other popular Chinese stars including Li Yifeng and Yang Mi. G-Dragon is the first international star to be placed within the top 10 of Sina’s “Most Influential Stars” rankings, showing the massive reach of the Hallyu wave in China. The data used to decide the rankings were gathered from a variety of sources, including search results from Chinese social media site Weibo, fan engagement, influence of the star, and other factors.
On a recent episode of Korean talk show “One Night,” AOA member Seolhyun shared her personal thoughts on rising commercial star Tzuyu of girl group Twice. On the Feb. 3 episode of SBS’s “One Night,” Seolhyun was invited as a special guest of the program. After talking about which brands Seolhyun wants to work with in the future, the interviewer mentioned that Twice’s Tzuyu has been frequently referred to as Seolhyun’s rival. “I’ve seen her in real life, and she’s really cute and pretty,” Seolhyun responded. Upon hearing the AOA member’s response, the interviewer clarified with Seolhyun if she thinks of Twice’s Tzuyu as a rival. “But she’s not my rival,” Seolhyun continued, clarifying her previous statement. “My real rival is myself.” Clearly confident about her position as one of the top choices for advertisers, Seolhyun also expressed her desire to shoot commercial films for water, appliances, washing machines, TVs, and cameras. Super Junior’s KimRyeowook is set to hold his first solo concert before the release of his solo album. The concert series , titled “Ever Lasting Star – Ryeo Wook,” will be held over a three-day period from Feb. 19-21 at the official SMTOWN Theatre at COEX Mall in Seoul and is part of SM Entertainment’s “The Agit” concert series. Tickets will be available for purchase on Jan. 20 at 8 P.M. through online ticket site Yes24. Ryeowook is an ideal pick for a solo debut due to his powerful vocals and wide range of work. He has recorded numerous drama OSTs, including “Temptation of Wolves,” “High School Musical,” “The Goddess Watches Over Us,” and “Agatha.” His skillset is not limited to singing, however; the 28-year-old Super Junior member has also performed in musicals, worked as a radio DJ, and been a host for television programs. Ryeowook confirmed in a recent interview that he would be releasing his solo album sometime in 2016. However, the exact date has not been decided. Luhan is continuing his activites as an offical Chinese ambassador of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” promotional activities in China. On Jan. 1, the music video tease r for Luhan’s Star Wars music video was uploaded on YouTube. The former EXO member sings to an upbeat, intense track while scenes from “Star Wars” play in the background, with scenes occassionally cutting to Luhan. “Star Wars” is scheduled to arrive in theaters in China on Jan. 9, so Luhan’s full music video will most likely be released before that date. Previously, the member starred in a 60-second TV spot where he turned into a Jedi, used the Force, and wielded a lightsaber to promote the film. Both Victoria (Song Qian) and Lay (Zhang Yixing) are extremely popular in their home country of China, according to the top 10 rankings on Chinese social media site Weibo. The rankings are based on the number of Weibo searches of each celebrity. Lay, who is a member of EXO, was searched over 90 million times, while Victoria of girl group f(x) was searched over 70 million times. On the recently published 2015 popularity chart, Lay took the No. 5 position while Victoria was ranked at No. 10. On Weibo, Lay has 11.5 million followers , while Victoria’s fanbase encompasses a staggering 19 million followers . The two SM Entertainment stars are the only K-pop idols on the list. Financial woes mean that one Korean company is on the brink of losing their building. The building belonging to Star Empire Entertainment will go up for auction, according to real estate auction company GGI Auction. The agency represents Z:EA, Nine Muses, and V.O.S, and is forced to put the building up for forced sale by auction after Star Empire lost a lawsuit against creditor TRI Entertainment. The building’s estimated worth is around $3.2 million USD, and will go on sale via auction an auction held by the Seoul Western District Court on September 8. Star Empire Entertainment owes creditor TRI Entertainment around $1 million USD, and also must repay the estimated $1.7 million USD mortgage to the bank. Star Empire was founded in 2000 and saw early success from girl group Jewelry and vocal group V.O.S. According to Westside Today , actress Katey Sagal received the 2,529 th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this past Tuesday. She is best known for her role of Peg Bundy, the outrageous housewife on the Fox comedy “Married… With Children,” in which she acted for 11 seasons. Sagal told Variety that the honor reminds her of her family and their lives in showbiz. “It makes me think of my family, it makes me think of my father… What I do is what I was raised around, so there’s something familial about that.” Sagal’s father, Boris, was a TV and film director who helped her get a leg up in the business.
