BLACKPINK dominates Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart; Group also enters Social 50 chart

After the success of their recent comeback, it seems that k-pop girl group BLACKPINK is not letting up! With their comeback album Square Two, the girls of BLACKPINK had topped both local and global charts.   Just this week, Soompi reports that their singles “Playing With Fire” and “Stay” ranked in the top of the Billboard World Digital Songs chart during the week of November 19, 2016. The upbeat Playing With Fire took the no. 1 spot while the more mellow “Stay”  didn’t lag behind as it too had managed to impressively place at no. 4. Now this is the second time that the group had entered the World Digital Song Sales chart because their previous singles “Boombayah”  and  “Whistle” from their debut album Square One had also topped the charts a few months back, the only rookie group to do so with a debut song.     According to Billboard , BLACKPINK’s latest achievement follows a similar pattern as to when they first debuted and entered the World Digital Song Sales chart. Back in August when they debuted with ” Boombayah”  and ” Whistle,” the former outperformed the latter on the charts and if you think about it,

BLACKPINK confirms appearance on ‘Weekly Idol’ + second comeback track teasers

BLACKPINK confirms appearance on 'Weekly Idol' + second comeback track teasers

YG Entertainment’s rookie girl group BLACKPINK had just confirmed that they will be appearing on the variety show “Weekly Idol.”  Ever since their debut early this year, the girls have never appeared on a variety show before except for music shows. It should be noted that even with little promotions and fewer guest appearances, BLACKPINK still managed to make a good debut amongst all the other emerging artists. Regardless, it’s a pretty great deal for artists to get all the exposure they can get especially from shows that garner significant views like Weekly Idol . But what’s interesting is the fact that it’s so rare for YG Family artists to guest on the show because their artists rarely do variety shows. For the fans of BLACKPINK, their guest appearance on Weekly Idol gives not only incredible exposure to the girl group but it also presents the chance for fans to get to know their idols better. According to Officially Kmusic , this may also be the first time that people get to see them on live television if you don’t count the times they appeared on music shows.  The girls will be appearing on Weekly Idol on November 1
