According to a movie industry insider on June 10, Jinyoung was cast in and recently completed filming “Bugs Attack,” an omnibus series set to have a total of 10 episodes. Jinyoung will play the role of the main character alongside ex-Kara member Han Seungyeon. Seungyeon’s role in the movie was confirmed last month , when a movie industry insider announced that Seungyeon was cast as the female lead. The two will star in the second episode, titled “Cockroach.” “Bugs Attack” is a comedic action-horror thriller about a sudden attack by giant insects and is directed by Hwang Donghyuk, who also directed the movies “Miss Granny” and “Silenced.” Seungyeon has previously acted in the dramas “Jang Bo-ri is Here!” and “Jang Ok-jung, Living by Love.”

According to a movie industry insider on Mar. 23, Sulli will continue her stint in the acting industry by performing in a bed scene in the movie set to release in the second half of the year. Although Sulli has previously shown a wide variety of acting chops in dramas and other movies, this is the first time that the young actress will do an intimate scene. Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany has revealed her desire to enter the acting world. In an interview with fashion and lifestyle magazine Instyle on Feb. 23, the 26-year old singer expressed her serious desire to begin acting for the first time. In the interview, Tiffany answered questions about makeup, role models, and what field she would like to challenge herself in. The Girls’ Generation member mentioned she has already began taking her first steps to be casted in an acting role. “For the past two years, I’ve been auditioning for roles in foreign projects,” Tiffany stated. “I was even casted in one, but I unfortunately had to decline the role due to scheduling conflicts.” Tiffany is currently taking acting classes and studying to make her official debut as an actress. She further stated her hopes to get casted in a good project in the future. Tiffany’s previous acting experience includes the musical Fame , which she acted in from Nov. 2011 to Jan. 2012, alongside other popular idols. South Korean actor Lee Jong Suk has been cast in the joint Korean-Chinese drama “Jade Lovers.” According to a statement made by Lee’s entertainment agency, Wellmade Yedang, on Dec. 23, “Lee Jong Suk has received a love call from director Jin Hyuk for 40 billion Korean won (~$34.1 million) to act in a large-scale Korean-Chinese drama called “Jade Lovers.” Lee Jong Suk has previously acted in dramas directed by Jin Hyuk, including “Prosecutor Princess” and “Doctor Stranger.” According to an insider, Lee Jong Suk will act alongside one of China’s top actresses for the production. Filming for the drama is scheduled to begin in Jan. 2016 in China. The fantasy-romance drama is jointly produced and funded by the global media group DMG Entertainment, who worked on box office hits like “Iron Man 3,” “Point Blank,” and other movies. Set in 1930, the background, costumes, and aesthetics of “Jade Lovers” will all be carefully chosen by top experts to match that time period.
