T-ara Disbandment: Soyeon & Boram End Contracts With MBK Entertainment, The Group To Officially Disband In December?

Amid the euphoria of T-ara’s comeback, MBK Entertainment has recently released an official statement saying that Soyeon and Boram have decided not to renew their contracts with the agency. Meanwhile, Eunjung, Hyomin, Jiyeong, and Qri have renewed their contracts with MBK Entertainment until December. So, does that mean T-ara disbandment will indeed happen when December is over? T-ara’d upcoming comeback album is set to release in May, and it will be the girls’ last album as six members. While Soyeon and Boram have decided to end their contracts, the rest of the group will continue to promote their solo activities, as per Soompi . However, fans are under the impression that T-ara disbandment is happening after all once the group’s renewal contract is over in December.
On Mar. 16, MBK Entertainment has addressed fans’ concerns regarding T-ara’s disbandment. The agency said that T-ara will wrap up their promotional activities as a group in May, but they will not be disbanding even if some members decided not to extend their contracts. While T-ara disbandment is still a primary concern for fans, Allkpop reported that the girls will be in the domestic and overseas tour to promote their comeback album that will be released at the end of May. All six members will go on a three-week-tour and hold a show in Japan and Southeast Asia in June. T-ara will also plan a mini-concert and fan meeting in Korea, and once the promotional activities wrapped up, the remaining members of T-ara will focus on their respective solo careers. Jiyeon reportedly will be releasing her solo album; Eunjung will still continue to promote as an actress; Hyomin will promote overseas, and Qri will more likely focus on her personal promotions for the rest of this year. T-ara’s comeback album will feature a special six-minute medley track that includes all the hit songs they’ve released since they debuted in 2009. The hit tracks that will be included in the special medley are “Lies”, “Time to Love,” “You Drive Me Crazy,” “Sugar-Free,” “Lovey Dovey,” “Number Nine,” and “Roly Poly.”
