Disney released the second trailer of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” the seventh installment to the long-running sci-fi space adventure series.
The second trailer, which reportedly still isn’t the film’s full theatrical trailer, was released at this year’s Star Wars Celebration event.
Watch it below.
The trailer opens with a voice saying: “The force is strong in my family.
My father has it, I have it, my sister has it,” which evidently points to the return of characters Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.
The voice, presumably Luke’s, ends with “You have it too.” Several sequences show a crashed Imperial ship, series droids R2-D2 and BB-8, a glimpse at the main villain Kylo Ren and the redesigned Stormtrooper.
There’s a scene where Darth Vader’s helmet is shown, furthering the rumors about the Sith lord’s return.
The trailer closes with Chewbacca and Han Solo inside the Millenium Falcon, with Solo saying: “Chewie, we’re home.” According to Screen Rant , the full length trailer will be released with Disney-Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” when it premieres on May 1.
It will reportedly focus on the “core original trilogy characters” Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia and others.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is the first movie from Disney since they acquired the franchise from Lucasfilm in 2012.
Principal photography for the movie concluded late last year.
Episodes 8 and 9 are already being developed along with the franchise’s first spin-off movie, “Star Wars: Rogue One.” It will feature series newcomers Daisy Ridley (Mr.
Selfridge), Oscar Isaac (X-Men: Apocalypse), John Boyega (Attack The Block), Adam Driver (Girls), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Andy Serkis (The Jungle Book), Max Von Sydow (Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close), and Domnhall Gleeson (Unbroken) along with original cast members Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will open in theaters on Dec.
