The Sony Xperia Z4 is expected to make an appearance at next year’s CES in Las Vegas, and rumors are already circulating about the device’s alleged specs. According to a report by GSM Arena , some sources are claiming that the new Xperia Z4 will feature wireless Qi charging, which has been running on some smartphones for years already.
This means, the new Android-powered handset would begin getting rid of wires.
In addition, the new Sony flagship is tipped to pack IP67 certification, but without the flaps to cover some of the ports.
This means we will finally see Sony’s smartphone without a flap which needs to be closed and opened every time. Aside from the new flagship, there were also reports that the Xperia Z4 Compact will also make its way to the CES 2015 in Vegas.
Like the Z3 Compact, the device should mimic the specifications of the Xperia Z4 in terms of processor, chipset and camera, but will get a smaller display and a lower resolution. Meanwhile, the Xperia Z4 Ultra is tipped to boast an even longer 6.4-inch display, plus all the high-end goodies of the Xperia Z4.
In addition, a new generation version of the Xperia Z4 Tablet will also make an appearance in the said event. In the report by Phone Arena , the new Sony phones will be announced on January 5, during the CES event. Earlier this year, Sony has announced its Xperia Z2 smartphone as well as the Xperia Z1 Compact.
Both devices immediately made an impact to the market, though their success was short-lived due to the arrival of other flagships from Samsung, HTC and even Chinese manufacturers like Oppo. While we can expect the new flagship to get QHD display and a Snapdragon 805, we can’t assure you anything unless the update comes from Sony itself.
