After months of Corey Taylor hiding the identity of Slipknot’s new bassist and drummer, the truth came out on its own after the band released the music video of one of their latest songs “The Devil In I”.
The two members meanwhile, where introduced formally to their fans after playing their first show together publicly in KnotFest.
According to loudwire , the distinct tattoos seen on the arm of the new bassist of Slipknot easily gave experts needed to identify him as Alessandro ‘VMan’ Venturella, who worked with rock bands Mastodon, Fightstar and Coheed & Cambria and plays guitar for the band Krokodil.
“They’re not official band members yet, but they are people who play with the band,” Corey Taylor said in an interview .
“Time will tell whether or not they’re, like, full members.
“With this band, you earn everything.
You’re not just given that shot; you have to earn it.
And so far, they’re doing really well.
And we’re really enjoying jamming with them.” “We’re keeping it kind of on the [Down Low], but not really, ’cause somebody already pointed out the tattoos,” the Slipknot vocalist continued.
“I was, like, ‘Why didn’t we make him wear gloves?’ I was so upset.
I was, like, we thought of all this stuff.
We put the hood on him and then the mask, and it was, like, ‘It’s really hot, guys,’ And then there is his tattoos for everybody [to see].
I was, like, ‘Well, we missed the mark on that one.'” Meanwhile, gigwise reported that the Slipknot new drummer, who was introduced earlier than the bassist was asked by members to pay his respects to the late Paul Grey before he joined the band.
The new drummer was reported to be Jay Weinberg, son of Max Weinberg, who plays drums for Bruce Springsteen and formerly a mainstay on the Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien.
“I made him pay his respects and say hello,” Crahan says.
“I told him what we’re gonna do, and we got on a fucking plane and flew to fucking L.A.” For more news about Slipknot’s new members and their tour, keep it locked in here at Kpopstarz.com.
