Samsung Galaxy Note 3 specs, update: The Android phablet Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is getting an update just before the holiday season begins.
According to Android Geeks, as of November 25, T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3 users will be getting a brand new firmware that should bump their Android 4.4.4 KitKat to N900TUVUDNK3.
The Android-focus site noted that the update is available over-the-air or via Samsung KIES.
The latest update is expected to be the last before Samsung pushes Android 5.0 Lollipop updates to its devices.
The Lollipop is expected to be available to the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, as well as last year’s Samsung Galaxy S4.
It may come to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on the first quarter of 2015.
Android Geeks reported that the minor update to the Android 4.4.4 KitKat in Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for T-Mobile users include new Chinese language support as well as added functionality for T-Mobile Free Inflight Texting.
There are no other major changes expected.
Like all Android updates, the roll out of the N900TUVUDNK3 Android 4.4.4 via OTA or Samsung Kies is done in phases and should be available for all Samsung Galaxy Note 3 T-Mobile devices by next month.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was made available on September 25, 2013 and comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box.
The handset sports a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080P resolution and sports a 13MP camera with improved flash.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor that clocks in at 2.3 GHz.
The Note 3 has been succeeded by the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, though like many Samsung devices, the Note 3 continues to have a strong following.
A quick look at Amazon.com shows the device available for around $530 unlocked.
