Harmonix has announced that “Rock Band 4” will be partnering with Mad Catz, which will co-publish at retail once the game is ready.
Mad Catz announced in their website that “Rock Band 4” release date is indeed scheduled this 2015.
Plus, they confirmed that majority of the playable tracks since the first “Rock Band” will be available in “Rock Band 4.” “Due for release later this year on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, ‘Rock Band 4’ is going to BLOW YOU AWAY.
A love-letter to fans of the franchise, ‘Rock Band 4’ is set to take music gaming to the next level! In addition to a killer on-disc soundtrack, ‘Rock Band 4’ will support vast numbers of tracks released since the 2007 launch of the original ‘Rock Band.’ Harmonix is confident that day one, ‘Rock Band 4’ will deliver the most music, period!” Mad Catz spokesperson Alex Verrey added that their company will be taking charge on distributing and promoting the game.
While Harmonix will be taking care of sales and supervising digital download content.
“Co-publishing the game allows us to work closer than ever before with Harmonix, delivering a seamless experience from game through hardware and ensuring that we focus on the needs of the gamer first and foremost,” wrote Verrey (via Eurogamer ).
Meanwhile, according to vg 247 , Mad Catz is working on new devices such as wireless controllers for “Rock Band 4.” This might mean they will be doing some modifications to the bass, drums, guitars and microphones but it is uncertain if there will be an exclusive version for the PS4 and Xbox One.
On the contrary, it was previously announced that the controllers for PS3 and Xbox 360 will be compatible to the current-gen platforms.
