Stephenie Meyer has revealed some news during the “Twilight” panel at the recent New York Comic Con. She told fans that Robert Pattinson was apparently not totally a fan of Edward Cullen from day one.
“He was very, very passionate about the character,” Stephenie Meyer describe of the Edward Cullen actor during Comic Con as quoted by Us Weekly . “Very intense. And we argued about Edward for several hours. Because he was convinced that Edward was depressed and suicidal!”
Stephenie Meyer did not elaborate further about the Edward Cullen actor’s view of the character but did admit, as reported by The Daily Dot , that she was “mystified” by Robert Pattinson’s thoughts. It was not clear in the news if the view also pushed her to write the vampire in a different light in the reimagined book.
The “Twilight Saga” author though has previously explained earlier this week that Bella Swan’s ” damsel in distress ” appearance to many was one of the factors that led her to write “Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined.”
During the New York, Comic Con, the author also revealed that she’s got another material coming next year. But before fans can rejoice, she quashed hopes that it would be “Midnight Sun.” She also revealed that EL Jame’s “Grey” was apparently to blame for “Midnight Sun’s” uncertain future.
“‘Midnight Sun’ is kind of cursed,” the author said as quoted by Entertainment Weekly .
Meyer admitted she has started writing Edward Cullen’s point-of-view again on “Midnight Sun” in June but she was pushed to discontinue it again with the release of EL James “Grey.”
“What do you think was the top story on Yahoo! the next morning?” she inquired to the audience. “Grey.”
With no certainty in the news when “Midnight Sun” will hit bookstores after the revelation, fans can only see Edwards Cullen’s point-of-view for now on the movie version of the “Twilight Saga” as portrayed by Robert Pattinson.
