‘Rise Of The Tomb Raider’ PS4 Release Date Incoming? Huge Announcement Coming This June 1!

Fans of the “Rise of the Tomb Raider” game are in for a treat as Square Enix will announce something big on June 1.

Could it be the much requested PS4 release?

According to VG24/7 , the announcement was posted on the “Tomb Raider” Facebook page  and it says: “Mark your calendars for Monday, June 1.” It was announced last year that “Rise of the Tomb Raider” will be a timed Xbox-exclusive and is set for a holiday 2015 release date.

This means that there is a huge possibility that the game will be available in the PS4 in the future.

To make the “Rise of the Tomb Raider” PS4 release date plausible, head of Microsoft’s Xbox division Phil Spencer implied that they will no longer have any control on what direction Crystal Dynamics would like to go to once the contract is up.

( Via Eurogamer ) “When people want me to say, can you tell us when or if it’s coming to other platforms, it’s not my job,” he explained.

“My job is not to talk about games that I don’t own.

I don’t own them building ‘Tomb Raider’ on other platforms.” He continued: “what they do with the franchise in the long run is not [my decision].

I don’t control it, so all I can talk about is the deal that I have.

I don’t know where else Tomb Raider goes.

The bigger question at this point is when it will move on, though? The deal has duration.

I didn’t buy it.

I don’t own the franchise.” Also, he declined to give comments when he was asked about the amount Microsoft paid Crystal Dynamics for the game’s exclusivity to their console.

“People ask me how much did we pay.

There are certain things that I’m just not going to talk about because it’s a business deal between us and them.

Obviously, the deal does have a duration.

I didn’t buy the property in perpetuity,” he said.

“I didn’t buy the IP.

I didn’t buy the studio.

It’s not mine.

Where this thing will go over time, we’ll see what happens with the game.

I don’t own every iteration of Tomb Raider,” he added.
