Real Housewives of Atlanta season 7: NeNe Leakes may finally be making her donation to the Detroit Public Schools.
Last week, it was reported that NeNe Leakes told the show Watch What Happens Live that the statute of limitations had passed.
Leakes also said wasn’t sure if she believed that Kenya Moore actually donated to the charity.
Critics blased NeNe for trying to backing out of the donation.
NeNe told told TMZ, “There was no time when you heard me say I wasn’t going to make a donation.
Nobody heard that come out of my mouth.” But now, NeNe says she will donate to the Detroit Public Schools, but because Kenya Moore took a long time to make her donation, NeNe will also take her sweet time.
Before NeNe donates to the Detroit Public Schools she wants to confirm that she is donating to a legitimate charity.
The RHOA star also wants to be sure that the check Kenya posted on Twitter was not a fake.
NeNe Leakes recently told Andy Cohen on his “Watch What Happens Live” TV show to say schools in Detroit won’t be getting a promised $20,000 donation from her.
During Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion show in Season 6, NeNe was challenged by Kenya Moore to donate $20,000 to the charity of Moore’s choice.
RHOA’S NeNe Leakes is now the Bravo network’s highest paid reality TV star.
Kenya Moore wants NeNe Leakes to pay up.
During an interview on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live,” Andy Cohen asled Leakes about the donation and NeNe asked “Didn’t the statute of limitations run out on that?” Cohen asked “Was there a statute of limitations?” “Well, it was a long time ago.
How about that? The statute of limitations does run out on things.
Just because she donated, I donate when I want to.
And I would need proof of that because we know she’s known to tell a few lies,” Leakes said.
The president of the school district reportedly told TMZ there was no statute of limitations.
Kenya Moore told Rumor Fix’s Real Mr.
Housewife “There was no deadline.
This speaks to her character.
She never intended to give $20,000 to any charity because she was likely trying to embarrass me rather than be kind and generous.” “She can contact Glenda Rice at the DPS foundation directly to confirm that I did give my donation.
If she’s so rich, why is this even an issue?” Moore continued.
Speaking to TMZ, Kenya said that on the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion show she challenged NeNeto to write a $20,000 check to match the one she made out to the Detroit Public Schools Foundation.
NeNe didn’t think Kenya had the $20,000, but since Kenya paid it out, she wants NeNe to make good on the challenge.
Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta” is riding high on the ratings.
According to Radar Online, the network credits NeNe Leakes, who’s been on the show since it first aired.
A source told Radar Online that NeNe earns $1.5 million a season which makes her the highest paid reality star.
The source says Leakes negotiated the money because “she is the most popular housewife of any of the Bravo franchises.”
