As “Once Upon a Time” season 4 approaches the finale, co-creator Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis teased the remaining episodes in a recent interview with TVLine .

First, the paths of Lily and Emma seem closer and closer to clashing together, and the “Once Upon a Time” co-creators provided some spoilers to how the episode finale will test both their dark sides.

“Anger doesn’t go away in one night,” said Kitsis.

“Lily is going to get charged back up a bit.

We’re going to get a little more insight into her and how she feels about herself.

Just because she and Emma had a nice scene on the highway doesn’t mean that it’s over.” Spoilers also confirm that Emma will be on a similar “road of darkness” leading up to the finale.

“Emma is definitely tested on this road of darkness, and where she ends up is going to be up in the air for the next three episodes,” said Kitsis.

“But she has a strong heart, so it’s going to take more than just a woman holding a gun to her kid’s head to turn her.” In addition, Kitsis also teased Isaac’s agenda now that he’s no longer the Author.

“How he feels about being the Author and what kind of Author he’d like to be gets answered in the first act of the finale,” said Kitsis.

After debuting as The Author, actor Patrick Fischler spoke to  The Hollywood Reporter  regarding his mysterious and powerful character, including spoilers on the two items that seems to give him the most power-the quill and the ink.

“The power is very much in the quill, which is why [Cruella de Vil] wants it,” explained Fischler.

“We learned so much about the quill in this episode.

A lot of it, most of it, stems from the quill and the ink.

One without the other works.” And of course, there’s that powerful “Once Upon a Time” moment between Belle and Rumplestiltskin, who the former her heart back without asking for anything in return.

“That look said to me she isn’t over him,” said Kitsis.

“But that doesn’t mean she’s ready to forgive him, either.

That’s the thing about that man and why he told us he’s a difficult man to love.

Because just when we’re ready to hate him, he does something completely selfless like get your heart back and then not ask for anything in return- and  does not kill your new boyfriend.”
