The official trailer for Fox’s “The Minorty Report” has been released.
The preview introduces Stark Sands (NYC 22, Generation Kill) as Dash, a man with pre-cognitive skills who can see crimes before they happen.
Megan Good (Anchorman 2, Think Like a Man) plays Lara Vega, a detective who must work with dash to stop the murders.
The catch is that Dash can only see fragments of the future, while his missing brother, Arthur, sees the rest.
Fox’s “Minority Report” picks up about 10 years after the events of the original film, where police’s PreCrime system has already been shut down and made illegal.
The three Precogs who operated as the main components of the system are now living of the grid.
Dash, one of the three, still sees terrible visions of the future and decides to continue helping the authorities.
The TV show is a sequel to Steven Spielberg’s 2002 sci-fi action, which is originally a loose adaptation of a short story of the same title by Philip K.
Dick, published in 1956.
The movie is set in Washington D.C.
in 2054 with Tom Cruise playing Captain John Anderton, the head of the Precrime police who gets accused of a future murder of a man he hasn’t even met.
Cruise’s co-stars include Max Von Sydow (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Colin Farrell (Total Recall), Samantha Morton (John Carter), Neal McDonough (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Kathryn Morris (Cold Case).
The film was praised by critics for its visuals, themes, and writing.
It was nominated at the Academy Awards for Best Sound Editing, and 11 Saturn Award nominations for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, taking home Best Science Fiction Film, Best Direction, Best Supporting Actress and, Best Writing.
The movie was a success, making $358 million worldwide on a $142 million budget.
“Minority Report” premieres on Fox in Fall 2015.
