The Nokia Z Launcer app is now on Google Play and has been noted as the inspiration for the newly launched Nokia N1 tablet.
The Z Launcher sportsa prediction algorithm that may have the “ability to guess what user wants,” according to ZDNet.
According to Nokia, the Nokia Z Launcher has been the inspiration for the launch of the newly unveiled Nokia N1 tablet, which runs on Anroid 5.0 Lollipop.
MakeUseOf described the Nokia N1 as “a low-cost, Atom-powered tablet with high-end aspirations that runs a heavily customized skin of Android 5.0 Lollipop.” Business Insider noted that the Nokia Z1 Launcher doesn’t just add additional features to your homescreen, but actually decides which apps could be most useful for you at a particular time.
Nokia said that the app can learn more about your habits the more you use it.
Know Your Mobile wrote that ultimately, the Z1 Launcher presents you with the shortcuts you use most often, when you need them.
The site describes how the app does this for you: “Part of this involves monitoring your app usage, calls, messaging, texts and so forth, and (importantly) when it all happens the software actually learns over time and figures out when you’re likely to use a particular app, call a particular person, or send a message based on your use habits, and once it’s done this it’ll present it in your list at the right time of day.
Z Launcher divides the day up into Morning, Afternoon, and Evening segments and adjusts the app list within these timeframes.” On its official website, Zlauncher.com, Nokia notes that throughout the day the app learns how you use your phone and promotes your favorite apps so you can get them faster.
