”The Vampire Diaries” lost its sheen after Nina Dobrev exited from the popular supernatural drama series. There are rumors of her coming back in season 7; however, it does not seem feasible considering the choc-o-block diary of the actress.
Nina Dobrev’s character Elena Gilbert in The CW’s supernatural drama series ”The Vampire Diaries” was a main cause for the viewers to watch this TV series. Nina exited from the show in season 6 (Apr. 2015) and the TRP started falling. Now the potential return of her in season 7 might revive the sheen of the show.
The makers of ”The Vampire Diaries” had put the character of Nina (Elena) is deep sleep and did not kill it. This has kept the hopes of the fans alive that Nina might come back in season 7. She played the role of Elena Gilbert, her doppelgänger, Katherine Pierce (Katerina Petrova) and a third doppelgänger, Silas’ true love known as Amara during the fifth season in the drama filled TV series.
The on-screen romance with Damon Salvatore (played by Ian Somerhalder) developed into real life love and the duo started dating sometime during the season 4. However, with time the relationship did not work out and Nina chose to move out of the show. Presently her calendar is full with the filming of ”xXx: The Return of Xander Cage.” In this movie she plays the role of Becky and it will hit the theatres on Jan. 20, 2017. Her other movie ”Crash Pad” will be released sometime in 2016.
It was also reported that Nina will reprise the role of Elena in the TV show ”The Originals.” ”Rumor has it that Nina Dobrev is going to move on to The Originals, possibly reprising her role as Elena Gilbert. She may join Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder if the two Salvatore brothers decide to make their way to New Orleans” reported Inquisitr.
”Amidst all rumors surrounding “Vampire Diaries” stars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, there are reports which claim that Dobrev refuses to work with her former flame. If the two won’t consider working together on the show, will this be a possible cancellation of TVD?” The Australian Network confirmed this news.
It was also rumored that Ian used Nina’s potential rumour just to gain back the viewership. Collider did a comprehensive review on the storyline and various aspects of this TV series. Executive producer Caroline Dries responded to many media queries. She was asked, ”Is there any chance that Nina Dobrev will return at the end of Season 7?”
”No. I would say that, if The CW called today and was like, “By the way, Season 7 is the last season,” then I think we would scramble to make sure that she was in the finale. But as of right now, we’re acting like the show will go on, so no” was the response given by Dries.
However, since the equations in the world of television change quite fast, we cannot completely rule out the possibility of bringing back the character of Dobrev in case the makers choose to revive the show. Only time will tell.
