The New York Knicks are looking to bolster their roster this off-season as marquee free agents Brook Lopez and Greg Monroe is rumored to be on their radar.
Could this mean they are aiming to draft a guard in the upcoming NBA draft in June?
According to Ian Begley of ESPNNewYork.com via Sports World Report , Jackson is keeping his lines open for teams inquiring on Jose Calderon, Tim Hardaway Jr.
and even Langston Galloway.
Begley then added that Cleanthony Early and Andrea Bargnani are not on the trading block after their impressive performance during their season ended.
Sports World Report added that Greg Monroe and Phil Jackson are set to negotiate once free agency kicks off.
“If they’re interested, I’m going to (listen),” Monroe said.
“Like I said, it hasn’t crossed my mind.
I know somebody else might have wrote something, but I had nothing to do with what was written.” Meanwhile, Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez might be moving from Barclays center to the Madison Square Garden.
Lopez, was one of the most coveted big man this season as plenty of teams inquired for his services but all the deals involving him broke down.
Christian Today reported that the Knicks could be a favorite in landing Lopez as he wants a long-term deal while the Knicks are lacking in the center position.
Brook Lopez could give Carmelo Anthony some breather in scoring and serve as the inside punch.
However, these moves could complicate their current draft position.
The Knicks are poised to pick in the Top 3 as they have the second worst record in the league.
Mock drafts project them to acquire either Jahlil Okafor or Karl-Anthony Towns who are playing the center and power forward position respectively.
Could this mean they are aiming for either Emmanuel Mudiay or D’Angelo Russell? Stay tuned.
