The band One Direction are coming out with their fifth album, and without Zayn Malik, the boys said their sound is going to be completely different.
The band will be kickstarting their “On The Road” tour again, starting with the North American stops on July 9.
Their first concert will be in San Diego, California.
The follow up to their previous album, Four, will be a departure from their previous studio albums.
“There’s a few different sounds on the album, not all the songs sound the same, like, same vibe,” Niall Horan said in an interview with ET Online .
“Couple of different guitars and drums.” “It’s a lot different than what we did before…
but, it’s cool,” he added.
But for the fans who like and are used to their current sound, the boys promised that there are plenty of tunes that will keep them happy.
“There’s a lot of old school vibes as well,” Liam Payne explained.
“I said before that it was quite Oasis-y but I was thinking about one song that I’ve been playing…
it’s very diverse I think.” As for collaborations with other musicians on their upcoming album, the boys revealed that there are no confirmed team-ups just yet.
“No collaborations so far,” Niall said.
“It’s still in the making so we’re not there yet.” In the meantime, fans can look forward to a couple of surprises in the band’s “On The Road” tour set list.
“Well, we got some new songs I believe for this one,” Liam shared.
“That is true,” Louis Tomlinson confirmed.
four I think.” “We have some favorites..
maybe someone else’s favorite off the album — from last year’s,” Liam added.
The band’s tour is to promote their current album, “Four,” which includes such hits as “Steal My Girl” and “Night Changes.”
