The stress of keeping yourself from being attacked is the premise of most modern horror video games.
Being attacked by animatronics in a family restaurant however is limited to “Five Nights at Freddy’s.”
The latest “Five Nights at Freddy’s 4” theory suggests that the stress from the first installment of the game will be making a comeback.
That is to say, the guys over at 8-Bit Gaming believe it’s possible that controlling the doors and ventilation system will be a part of the newest game design.
“The theory is basically saying that the eyes we see on Scottgames.com may represent the game mechanics and previous game mechanics in ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s,'” said Ryan on Youtube.
Through the rest of the video, 8-Bit Gaming explains that each eye that is more illuminated also happens to coincide with the doors they animatronics originally appeared in.
Ultimately, the illumination implies that doors may once again play a part in the game mechanics.
In the case of Nightmare Freddy however, a different explanation was applied since his design did not include illuminated eyes.
“Since Freddy can come and kill you from both doors in ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 1, perhaps that is why Nightmare Freddy doesn’t have illuminated eyes,” explained 8-Bit Gaming.
As with every “five Nights at Freddy’s 4” theory, there’s always a chance that it is just a stretch of imagination or an overzealous need for explanation.
Scott Cawthon hasn’t updated his website with any new teasers, which debunked two other theories about the order and timing of releases.
As such, nothing is confirmed unless it comes directly from Cawthon.
Nevertheless, part of the fun for fans of this franchise (myself included) is finding possible hints and developing theories.
Fans will get their chance to decipher the full “Five Nights at Freddy’s 4” when it is released this year on October 31.
