Before the premiere of “Doctor Who” season 9, a new monster has been unveiled that is intriguing Whovians around the world.
On Tuesday, the official “Doctor Who” Instagram uploaded a mysterious photo showcasing a machine-like entity.
“What’s that in the shadows?” said the photo caption.
“New monster about to meet Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman.” This was followed by another photo showing more of the new “Doctor Who” season 9 monster alongside director Ed Bazalgette.
Based on the already confirmed information regarding “Doctor Who” season 9’s shooting schedule, Whovians have allegedly narrowed down which episodes the monster will appear in.
“Oh I like it,” wrote DoctorWhoTV user The Lazy Cat Is Investigating.
“So this’ll be the monster for ‘The Girl Who Died’ and ‘The Woman Who Lived?'” According to Radio Times , the two-part episode is expected to feature “Game of Thrones” actress Maisie Williams.
“We’re thrilled to have Maisie Williams joining us on ‘Doctor Who,'” said executive producer Steven Moffat.
“It’s not possible to say too much about who or what she’s playing, but she is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways.
This time he might just be out of his depth, and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell.” The most popular theories regarding Williams’ character is that she is a younger version of Clara Oswald.
“There’s been a lot of speculation about whether she’s like a younger Clara or whether she is a new character completely,” said Williams to Alan Carr.
“I’m not going to tell you which one.
Whether she is good or bad is up for discussion, I think.
She does put the Doctor to the test and it’s sort of a dynamic that we haven’t seen before.”
