NBA Trade Rumors: LaMarcus Aldridge For Blake Griffin In The Works? Will It Be A Win-Win Situation For Both Teams?

Rumors of Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge being swapped for each other are surfacing online.

With LA becoming an unrestricted free agent this season, the Portland Trail Blazers would want at least some assets in return instead of getting nothing.

In a recent report from Pro Basketball Talk which originated from Yahoo! Sports Marc J.

Spears on John Canzano’s Bald-Faced truth radio show, a possible swap between the two is being suggested.

“This is a rumor.

Let me say that three times.

This is a rumor.

This is a rumor.

This is a rumor.

Blake Griffin.

Obviously, there’s a connection there with the GM.

And you wonder if LaMarcus is interested in the Clippers, playing with Chris Paul.

Could Neil Olshey get his old superstar with the Clippers in Portland?” as stated in the report.

“I think you get to a point where – Neil is smart.

You’ve got to have a come-to-Jesus meeting with LaMarcus and say, “Hey, do you really want to be here or do you think  you want to go.

Because f you really want to go, help us – the same way Steve Nash helped the Suns.

Don’t just walk away.

Try to help out Portland in the process,” the source wrote.

It was a tough year for the Portland Trail Blazers.

Key players Wesley Matthews, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Robin Lopez each faced injuries that forced them to miss some games.

It just never gave Aldridge a real chance to go deep in the playoffs.

Although the acquisition of Aaron Afflalo proved to be one of the team’s best moves this season, it was not enough to get them out of the first round in this year’s playoffs.

This might force Aldridge to want a fresh start.

On the other hand, the Clippers are having a great year as they eliminated the reigning champs San Antonio Spurs and they are leading the Houston Rockets 2-1in the semis as of this writing.

The question for them is would they like to stick with their trademark Lob City or do they prefer a combo of Aldridge and DeAndre Jordan?   But looking at this possible deal, both All-Star forwards will be playing with All-Star point guards and solid supporting cast.

Will it be a win-win situation for both teams? Stay tuned.
