As unusual as it sounds, the NBA Finals may be pushed back for a few days because of a possible double sweep in the Western and Eastern conference that could possibly give the players at least 10 days of rest, as the NBA finals is initially scheduled to happen in June 4.
In a report by CBS Sports , the NBA is considering of moving up the NBA finals schedule if ever both the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers, who are now just one win away from the NBA Finals, win their last game and sweep their respective series.
From an initial two-day break if ever both the Western and Eastern conference finals go to a game seven, to an eight-day break, is being talked about by the league.
“It’s complicated and unlikely, sources say, based on television commitments, hotel capacities, international media travel and other considerations,” CBS Sports claimed.
“One person familiar with the discussions described them as being in the ‘very early exploration’ stage.” One issue that is in the minds of the league is the schedule of Oracle Arena and Quicken Loans Arena if ever the finals were moved to an earlier date.
However, it was reported that there are no scheduled events on the proposed dates and would grant a go signal if ever the NBA agrees with the finals schedule.
According to Uproxx , the NBA is considering a June 2 start for the first game of the finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
