According to the International Business Times, a Motorola handset called Moto Droid Turbo is in the works and will be available through Verizon by August of this year.
The handset is being labeled a super smartphone endowed with some powerful specs.
The Droid line, which includes the Droid Mini, was launched in August 2013.
This year, Motorola and Verizon have yet to unveil a Droid handset.
Android Authority and International Business Times have noted the specs of the Droid Turbo and as having the processor and RAM features that were earlier mentioned.
But it’s important to note that the only specs that was revealed with the Droid Turbo handset is for it’s standard and original version.
The possibility of the Droid Turbo having a Droid Turbo Mini is pure speculation at this point.
Referencing rumors on this supposedly upcoming handset, we may expect that an upcoming Droid Mini variant may also have 20MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing shooter.
The current Motorola Droid Mini model sports a 10MP rear camera.
What is definite from Motorola and Verizon at the moment is the availability of the Moto X 2014 which can be had from the Big Red carrier.
It’s available for $99.99 on a two-year contract.
The Moto X can be designed with the Moto Maker where users can customized their handsets and do a lot more.
The Moto X is not exclusively available from Verizon.
AT&T and T-Mobile are also offering the new Motorola smartphone.
In a September 23 report from PhoneDog, it notes that the T-Mobile Moto X handset is now getting the Android 4.4.4.
