Microsoft Surface Pro 3 review, specs: The Windows 2-in-1 tablet, which is being hailed as replacement for the laptop f eature some impresive specs.
These include a 12-inch display, up to an i7 processor for maximum performance and 8GB RAM and Solid State Drive for quick boot up.
The third-generation laptop and tablet hybrid has been designed to compete against the laptops and even the micropage for the Surface Pro 3 shows its comparison with the MacBook Air.
Microsoft also hailed the Surface Pro 3, with its 0.36-inch thickness as the slimmest device at the moment that features an Intel Core i7 processor under the hood.
It also notes that it beats the MacBook Air’s 2.38 lb.
in terms of weight with its 1.76 lbs and is now considered as either an oversized tablet or an extremely portable laptop.
The 12-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 has been praised by tech reviewers for its sharpness and it’s considered a great fit for viewing HD movies on a tablet.
In terms of productivity, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a fully-functinal Microsoft Office suite with a pen to boot, although the standard complain of the keyboard not being included in the package is still unsolved.
Though the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 bears some pretty powerful features, it’s not fit to be a laptop replacement for some reasons.
One of them is that it runs hot quickly; second, the keyboard gives a below-average typing experience.
The track pad is also frustrating in some regards.
So what is the verdict? For TechRadar: “Not without its drawbacks, this is the brightest shining example of not only Microsoft’s vision of a laptop-free future, but the entire laptop-tablet hybrid category,” TechRadar concluded on its review.
PC Pro, on the other hand, said that the Surface Pro 3 has “a fantastic screen and improved ergonomics, the new Surface Pro is an impressively persuasive hybrid.” Given its flaws, particularly in the keyboard, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 still delivers as a functional hybrid with sharp and crisp display, complete Windows tools, and sound high-end processor.
More importantly, the success of this hybrid signifies a future without laptops and tablets, only hybrids.
