“The Imitation Game” actor Benedict Cumberbatch will start filming for Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” this year in November.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige on what fans can expect from the upcoming movie.

“With Strange, it is a classic Marvel origin story because he’s got one of the best origins ever,” Feige told Screen Rant .

“And it’s our opportunity to take that left turn into the supernatural.

Now, what is the definition of supernatural? It varies.

We like the idea of playing with alternate dimensions.” He described the character’s story as a “very sort of crazy – [Steve] Ditko crazy acid trip way of traveling through dimensions and traveling through other realms is something that we think is very, very cool …

playing with the perceptions of reality.” Joblo  reports that Cumberbatch “will be wearing the traditional outfit from the comics, complete with the red cape (albeit with a much smaller collar) and blue outfit.” Many are unaware that the plot of last year’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” wasn’t faithful to the comic book.

“Doctor Strange,” however, will be inspired by the original storyline.

The title character, real name Stephen Strange, is a successful and arrogant neurosurgeon who loses his abilities in a car crash.

A wizard takes him under his wing, training and giving him mystic powers to defend the Earth from dark forces.

Early casting rumors have attached several Hollywood actors to the project.

Keanu Reeves (47 Ronin), Johnny Depp (Mortedcai), Matthew McConaughey (Interstellar), and Jack Huston (American Hustle) were all, at one point, reported to be in the running for the title role.

Joaquin Phoenix was confirmed to have reached negotiations with Marvel Studios but declined signing a mulit-picture contract, opting to work in smaller productions instead.

Talents appearing in the movie include Juliet Rylance (Sinister), Chiwitel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave) and Simon Baker (The Mentalist).

Daniel Bruhl (Rush), who plays Baron Zemo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will also make an appearance in the film.

“Dorcor Strange” will be in theaters on Nov.
