Some Marvel Studios characters have been confirmed to make an appearance in the upcoming “Spider-Man” movie 2017. This will come after the web slinger has been introduced to the MCU in “Captain America: Civil War.”
EW reported that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has revealed their future plans for Spider-Man and the Avengers. “He is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth,” Feige told the publication.
It was noted that Sony Pictures has plans to reboot the character. Tom Holland, who took on the character of Peter Parker in “Captain America: Civil War,” will reportedly reprise his role as the web slinger for the “Spider-Man” movie 2017 set for July.
The website added that the characters were originally from Marvel Comics. However, a few of its heroes were licensed to other film companies before the company began to finance its own movies.
Fox currently has the rights for the X-Men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool, among others. Sony, on the other hand, has Spider-Man and all the characters he is associated with.
It was revealed, though, that there is a deadline set for each property. This means that other studios have to make a new film for the characters. Otherwise, Marvel gets the rights again.
Last year, Sony agreed to share Spider-Man with Marvel Studios. In exchange, a deadline extension was given to the company and would give them enough time for the production of “Spider-Man” movie 2017.
According to YHM , “Captain America: Civil War” Spider-Man seemed to be caught up between Marvel Studios and Sony. The deal between the two companies reportedly allows Marvel to have control over the character when he’s alongside the Avengers while Sony has control over Spidey during his solo adventures.
Movie Web noted that Sony has secured the URL domain name “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” which is the same title of a story arc in the comics. This led to speculations that Tony Stark and Steve Rogers will be in “Spider-Man” movie 2017.
