Actor Mark Ruffalo, known as Dr.
Bruce Banner a.k.a.
The Hulk in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, talks about the future of his character and the possibility of a standalone film.
Speaking with Collider , Ruffalo revealed how many movies he has left in his Marvel Contract:
“I think it’s four now, but that could always go further,” the actor said.
“That could include different-I could show up in another character’s movie; I could do Avengers 3 and 4; I could do a Hulk standalone; I could do a combination of those things.” Last week, the actor went on an interview with IGN and candidly mentioned that his character might go to “space” and revealed “there’s some talk of maybe Planet Hulk.” For those unfamiliar, Planet Hulk’s storyline follows the character into outerspace when his fellow Avengers decided that he’s too dangerous to stay on Earth.
Ruffalo weighed-in on the problems of making a Hulk standalone film, revealing that Marvel hasn’t acquired the rights to the character from Universal Pictures.
“That’s a big impediment to moving forward with that,” he explained.
“Now I don’t think that’s insurmountable, by the way, but I don’t know where it’s going from here for me.” Ruffalo may be seen next in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” with Robert Downey Jr.
