Now that the “Fight of the Century” is history, fans are somewhat craving for more and would like to see a Manny Pacquiao vs.
Floyd Mayweather rematch.
The good news is, Floyd is willing to fight Pacquiao one more time but the bad news is, they would need to find another venue other than the MGM Grand.
According to Mirror.uk , Floyd Mayweather Jr.
allegedly confirmed with ESPN journalist Stephen A.
Smith via text message that he is willing to grant Manny Pacquiao a rematch once his shoulder injury is fully healed.
The surgery will fix a tear in Pac-Man’s rotator cuff.
“I will fight him in a year after his surgery,” said Mayweather in the text message.
Although some fans would like to see that rematch, Mayweather’s contract with Show Time will expire in September and it will take Pacquiao more or less a year to recover from this injury.
“My last fight is in September, and then it’s time for me to hang it up,” the undefeated American boxer previously said.
However, it seems like both camps would have to find another venue for the Manny Pacquiao vs.
Floyd Mayweather rematch as reported by Stephanie Smith of the New York Post.
( via Bleacher Report ) “The proposed rematch of the welterweights was going to be timed to the opening of the MGM Grand’s new $375 million, 20,000-seat arena in May 2016.
The first big event at the venue will be a concert by an unspecified artist, and the Mayweather-Pacquiao matchup would have come next.” But now Vegas insiders say that the hotel giant’s backing away from the idea because the fight-while pulling in unprecedented millions-underwhelmed fans and was a logistical nightmare.” For more Manny Pacquiao vs.
