For the first time, One Direction appeared in a TV show guesting without Zayn Malik in the line up after the singer announced his departure from 1D earlier this year.
In a Hollywood Life report, member Louis Tomlinson and the rest of the group went on an interview with James Corden, where the boy band talked about the group’s life now that they are one man short.
“There’s been a bit of back and forth, but we’re on good terms with him,” Tomlinson explained.
“I’ve never been very good at biting my tongue.
Maybe I get it off my mom.
It’s just one of those things – Twitter’s great for connecting with the fans, but also, if you feel like saying something you probably shouldn’t, it’s also good for that, as well.
Or bad in this case!” Liam Payne said in the same interview how the group didn’t take Zayn Malik’s departure well at first until they recently accepted the band’s fate and respected Malik’s decision to pursue his solo career.
“At first we were a little bit angry,” Payne said in the show.
“We were surprised, but I think we all knew the general vibe that James was feeling.
There were certain parts of this job that Zayn loved and certain parts that he didn’t.
If you don’t like your job, you’ve got to follow your heart sometimes and go where you need to go.
There’s no argument with that.” “We wish him the best of luck with whatever he gets up to,” Liam concluded.
Louis Tomlinson also revealed that One Direction would make an appearance at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards on May 17.
