Latest Patriots News 2015: New England Defeats Washington, As Lewis Suffers Knee Injury

Latest news on the New England Patriots reveal a team that is at its peak in 2015.
The Patriots have remained unbeaten, defeating the Washington Red Skins 27 – 10 on Sunday, reported ESPN .

Although New England’s scoring output was kept at a season low, its chances of securing a 16 – 0 regular season was never in jeopardy during the entire game.
The Patriots opened with a 14 – 0 lead against the Red Skins, as it took advantage of an onside kick and an interception before Washington could establish its defense.
“I just felt like we never had the ball in the first quarter,” Washington coach Jay Gruden said.
“I just never felt like we got in a rhythm,” he added.
This was certainly good news for Patriots fans who have been hoping that 2015 would be a excellent year for the team.
New England quarterback Tom Brady was on a roll, as he was able to complete 26 of 39 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns, plus an eight-yard touchdown to Edelman during the opening drive.
On the other hand, it was simply a bad day for Washington, as the team only managed to execute a single play.
A pass made by Red Skins quarterback Kirk Cousins bounced off his team mate, wide receiver Pierre Garcon, after being finally intercepted by New England corner back Logan Ryan.
“We had a good drive early, had an opportunity to get on top and play from ahead,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. “That was definitely helpful.”
Meanwhile, Patriots running back Dion Lewis suffered a knee injury during the game which may turn out to be bad news for the team which has so far remained on top of the rankings in 2015, according to the Boston Herald .
Coach Belichick, however, declined to comment on Lewis’ condition after the game, saying “The game’s just over, so…”
Although awkwardly planting his left leg, Lewis still managed to finish a 14-yard catch-and-run with 5:20 remaining in the game.
However, he remained on the ground after being tackled, and clutched at his injured knee.
He was then attended to by Patriots staff members, while his teammates approached to check on his condition.
“It’s tough to lose such a special player,” Brady said of Lewis, who may be sidelined for a while.
In the meantime, the Patriots will have contend with their running back’s injury, which is certainly unfavorable news for a team which is having a fantastic run in 2015.
